How to Get Involved

1. Partner

Family Promise has a need for additional host and support churches.  If you're interested in Family Promise but your church is not a host or support church, please encourage your congregation to become involved!  We have volunteer speakers who will schedule a visit with your congregation to share the story of Family Promise.

2. Volunteer

Family Promise of Blount County depends on volunteers to operate.  Volunteers can help in a variety of ways, including:

• Congregation-based volunteers who set up rooms, serve as overnight hosts, prepare meals, tutor children, and lead weekend activities
• Day Center volunteers who answer phones, perform administrative tasks, and interact with guests
• Transportation volunteers who drive the Family Promise van and assist with guests' car maintenance
• Special Event volunteers
• Congregation Recruitment volunteers who visit churches that are interested in getting involved
• Fundraising & Grant-writing volunteers

3. Donate

In addition to monetary donations, Family Promise gladly accepts in-kind donations.  Here is our current "Wish List" of needed items:
